Tips for a groovier Drum circle

  • Respect and take care of one another's instruments
  • Take of watch and any Jewellery when playing
  • Ask for permission before you play on someone else's instrument
  • Listen well before starting to play
  • Support the fundamental groove
  • Listen as much as you play
  • Leave rhythmical space
  • Help each other to find the rhythm
  • If you can hear you play out of rhythm;  STOP AND LISTEN!
  • Play at the same sound intensity as the rest of the circle
  • Be subtle in your play. Show your skill, not your ego. Make room for others

Come join these evenings with drums, singing, sound, dance etc. Drum circle games and facilitation too.

  Signing up is not necessary. If you want to be sure that the evening is not cancelled please contact the person responsible for the evening (see initials behind the dates).

If no one has shown up within the first 20 minutes the person responsible can cancel the Drumming.

Enter Fælledparken from Universitetsparken/Nørre Allè. Turn left by Edel Sauntes Allé and go approximately 100 m. We are staying at the lawn to the right down to the lake.

Eventually bring something to sit on.

Bus S150 to Universitetsparken.

Kulturhavn 2012

Trommecirkel.dk and DJEMBUKA JAM  is again this year participating in Kulturhavn 2012 from Friday 3rd of August to Sunday 5th of August.

we are playing:

Saturday 4th August pm. 13.00 - 15.00

Sunday 5th August pm. 15.00 - 17.00. Both days at "Rytmescenen".

Free rhythm- and music improvisation with hand drums and rhythm instruments. Come and let's create in the moment music.

Bring your own instrument (bought or homemade). Children are welcome together with an adult.

Arthur Hull will be in Bergen, Norway, 4th – 7th of October 2012!

Arthur Hull is perhaps best known as ”the father of community drum circles”.

Bergen is the second biggest city in Norway. It is located on the west coast, beautifully surrounded by mountains. It is very easy to get there by plane, but train and boat will be nice oppurtunities as well.
